How often should you water your plant?
Pick your plant, choose the light in the room where it lives and the season: the calculator gives you its watering rhythm. Free, no sign-up.
How the rhythm is worked out
Each species has two base rhythms: one for spring and summer, when it grows and drinks a lot, and one for autumn and winter, when it rests. These rhythms apply to a room with its favourite light.
Light changes everything: a plant in a room darker than it likes drinks less, and its soil dries more slowly. The calculator then stretches the interval by 20% for each level of light less, and shortens it by 20% for each level more.
This rhythm is a guide: before watering, push a finger into the soil. If it's still moist an inch down, wait a day or two.
